Facebook Updates, Please Read

PLEASE READ - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO EVERYONE WHO USES FACEBOOK FOR BUSINESS OR PERSONAL REASONS. {Shared by Abby Smith } Thanks Abby
Have you noticed that you are only seeing updates in your newsfeed from the same people lately? Have yo...u also noticed that when you post things like status messages, photos and links, the same circle of people are commenting and everyone else seems to be ignoring you?
Don't worry, everyone still loves you and nobody has intentionally blocked you. The problem is that a large chunk of your friend/fan list can't see anything you post and here's why:
The "New Facebook" has a newsfeed setting that by default is automatically set to show ONLY posts from people who you've recently interacted with or interacted the most with (which would be limited to the couple of weeks just before people started switching to the new profile). So in other words, for both business and personal pages, unless your friends/fans commented on one of your posts within those few weeks or vice versa - you are now invisible to them and they are invisible to you!!
HERE'S THE FIX: Scroll down to the bottom of the newsfeed on the homepage and click on "Edit Options", click on "Show Posts From" and change the setting to "All Of Your Friends and Pages" Note: This is the fix for personal pages but I am unsure of whether or not the business pages are set up the same way.
Simply posting an update about it won't do any good because lots of your friends/fans already can't see your posts by default. You'll either have to send out a message to everyone on your list (which I'm not even sure business pages can do and is a rather tedious method) or post an event explaining the situation like this one and invite your entire fan base and/or friend list. You can also tweet about it hoping that most of your fellow facebookers are also on twitter.

I've alerted some of the big facebook security sites that I know of and they are working on finding an easier solution for companies to let their customers know about the situation.

Shame on facebook for altering the default setting and not telling people and business pages about it! Just think about how many companies posted Christmas sales and discounts without having any idea that their customers couldn't see the updates

...is blowing through the river. Or at least it is blowing through the River~Rose blog. Over the next several days/weeks you will start to notice some exciting changes around here! Not in design, it will look the same but Katie (my CT Lead) and I have put our heads together and have come up with some great ideas all with the intentions of bringing you newsworthy information, exciting challenges, helpful links that are sure to add to your abilities as scrappers, crafters and designers alike! Happy Friday to everyone! Keeping it short and sweet this week so I can spend more time trying to put my house together for the Christmas holiday which is fast approaching! I have a new collection in store (the start of this collection anyway) and I am so excited about it, I could hardly wait to share :D So without further delay, here is the details:

Many Seasons is a series of mini kits all with a different and unique color pallet and element sets. The meaning of this series is to have a collection of kits on hand that will match your moods, life events and much more without an actual theme because we all know that life has "Many Seasons" and you should have a kit to match each one.

Good morning world! I do hope you all are warmer than I am today. I got up to a house that is 68 degrees :( I do NOT like being cold! Guess that will teach me not to watch out for the weather and see when to be prepared with a heater. I am trying to wait as long as possible before I have to turn the furnace on. Once the furnace goes on the money goes quickly to the gas company and LOTS of it! So how long do you push it to turn on the heat (or air conditioning) at your house? Anyway, I guess I'll get to the point today, finally :) I have a sneak peek today but no giveaway. I will be back next Monday with a new sneak peek giveaway, promise! Hi, and happy Monday everyone! Boy this was a long weekend for me and it wasn't any more days than usual, haha I guess the cooler weather is getting to me here. We are even using electric space heaters at night to warm our bedrooms so we don't have to turn the furnace on. That makes it a cold 68-70 degrees in the rest of the house in the morning but nice and toasting in our beds :) Makes me curious, what is the temperatures in your part of the world?

I know, it's nothing new for me to have some new good for you all :) I love putting things together after searching/creating for the perfect color pallet. This week I bring you my new Autumn kit. I just love the time of year when things seem to go into a sort of calm and all the leaves start to turn such beautiful and rich colors. The sound of the wind blowing them down the street in the morning and having the windows in the house open without losing cool or heated air. There is so much more I could say about it but for now, I'll leave you with my creation/interpretation of the season.

Happy Monday everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend! As the title says, there will be no sneak peek giveaway this week as I have some GREAT stuff coming on September 1st! Please stay tuned for that.

Happy Monday everyone! I am tired but enthusiastic (for the first time ever) for my kids to go back to school this week :) Why now and not before? I have no answer other than I think I am just realizing how much more I get done. I still love when they are home but am really also needing some time to myself. Mothers seem to get the least of this, eh? Speaking of back to school...have you found any awesome bargains yet? I'm sure your looking as most of us do! I some how got lucky and had a ton of supplies left over form last year. I think i have become a supply hoarder! Not too bad though as it only takes one box not one room ;) The hard part is the clothing. Despite all that goes into getting the kids back in school, I still have photo's on the brain and always looking for great ways to preserve the times. I have a daughter starting her Senior year this year (wow, way to show my age!) so it's really important to get those photo's!!
